Let in snow!❄❄

Ok, I admit it. I love snow. There I said it.

As a kid growing up in Northern Ontario, we always had plenty I would sled and ski, cross country and downhill constantly. Each year once Halloween passed, I found myself with elbows pressed on the window sills, head in my hands, just waiting for the first snowfall to totally transform the earth white.

Even if you despise snow, you have to admit the first snowfall and accumulation of the season is quite beautiful. Everything is clean, white and pure.

Everything looks so different and magical when it’s covered in snow. During the dark, gray, dirty days of winter with bare trees and dead grass, a blanket of snow covering the landscape is a bright, refreshing respite.

Snow also brings much-needed moisture during the driest months of the year.

I Iove the feeling of walking on your own, with nowhere to go and no bags to hold. All wrapped up in a scarf and big coat. I love those quiet winter days and evenings. No one around to talk to, It’s like being at one with nature.

Christmas!!!🎄

Christmas is in the air and lights and decorations are springing up everywhere. The weather is getting brisk and snow will begin to fall. The kids are getting excited and starting to talk about Santa and his reindeer.
As we think about all of this hustle and bustle and we get caught up with the shopping and presents and parties, it is good to slow down for a moment and think about the giving and sharing and gratitude that are also a part of the season. Sometimes it is so easy to get focused on the commercialism of the season. Maybe we need to step back and think about why we are doing all of this.

Christmas approaches and the weather gets colder, difficult times become even harder for many vulnerable and homeless people. This year the situation continues to be amplified further by the effects & after effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

There are many families in need of our help!!

From a food bank to a charity supporting lonely elderly people, these are just a few of the charities that are looking for help this festive season.

Please consider if you visit me to drop off food items so I can donate it to my local food !!!

The most wonderful time of the Year!🎄

I’ve always felt there is something so magical about this time of the year with the sparkling lights, warm clothes and hot cocoa (or wine). I love Christmas. I love the decorations, giving, the carols, and the celebrating of Jesus’ birth.

Each year you can often find me prancing around the house, with a grin on my face, singing “it’s the most wonderful time of the year”.

Here is the thing, though: for many, many people, it’s not.

For some people, Christmas rakes up memories from the past that they’d rather forget. Whether that’s memories of loved ones lost, relationships fallen apart, trauma experienced or whatever else. Christmas can be a ridiculously hard time of year for so many people. If you’re one of those people, I’m sorry. I’m sorry that Christmas is hard for you. I can’t imagine what it is that you’re going through. If Christmas brings up memories that are too hard for you to experience, then you don’t have to celebrate. You don’t have to celebrate if it’s too painful for you. Put your own mental health first over the pressure to celebrate the holiday season.

There can be so many pressures and expectations for the holidays, but there truly doesn’t need to be. Christmas is about Jesus, and I can promise you he is OK with you simply focusing on him and sitting the rest out.

I hope and pray you will be able to find peace and comfort during this season, and that a different part of the year will be the most wonderful time for you!!

Remember!!🌹

Never forget the contributions and sacrifices of the men and women who have served Canada in times of war, military conflict and peace – especially those who did not return.

Let’s maintain a minute of silence and pay respect to the remembrance of our brave soldiers.

I am forever grateful to these brave souls, and I swear to uphold their brave acts in the future.🌺

Happy belated Diwali!!

The season of joy, festivities, bright lights, sparkles, snacks and sweets is here! While we live in a country which sees festivals and celebrations all year round, Diwali is one of the most awaited festivals for the entire country. To be celebrated , Diwali brings all communities together and marks the triumph of good over evil.

May light always guide your way this Diwali and all year long.

Let us all help!!!🎄

As we enjoy the fall season, my mind turns towards the upcoming holiday season filled with our loved ones, gift exchanges and favourite dishes at the dinner table. The holiday season is also the quintessential time to spread the spirit of giving and gratitude to help those in need. Supporting food banks in your community is a great way to spread this spirit in a season filled with good cheer and kindness.

Christmas is also, of course, the season of goodwill, and can be a tough time for many people, including those who are homeless, recently bereaved, lonely or struggling to make ends meet. So why not spend some time helping those in need this Christmas? Research shows that acts of kindness can have a huge benefit to your own happiness, health and sense of well-being as well as those of the people you help.

I am always donating to my local food bank. Please consider when you visit me to drop something off to me so we can all help my local food bank!

Items in need are rice, granola bars, peanut butter, tomato sauce, canned chili, Cereals, !!

Thanks for your help!❤🎁
